A workplace fall may result from spilled liquids, debris, uneven flooring, unsafe ladders, poorly maintained walking surfaces, inadequate lighting, or other hazards.
The cause of the fall should be documented whenever possible. If you can safely do so, photographs of the condition that caused the accident may be particularly helpful because hazards are often cleaned up or repaired shortly afterward.
Whether the accident leads to a negligence claim or another workplace injury remedy will depend in part on your employer’s coverage and whether another company controlled the property or created the dangerous condition.
